By submitting an article to our journal, authors are deemed to have accepted the academic and ethical responsibilities outlined below.

1. Originality and Data Accuracy

  • The submitted work must be entirely original and must not have been published elsewhere previously. Any data, visuals, text or ideas taken from other sources must be properly cited. Plagiarism and self-plagiarism are strictly unacceptable.
  • The accuracy and authenticity of the data used in the study are essential. When deemed necessary, the author(s) are responsible for making the raw data available or retaining it. Fabricating or distorting data is an unacceptable breach of ethics.
  • The article should not be under review by another journal and should not be submitted elsewhere during the review process.

This approval must be stated and documented in the study. Information regarding the approval (committee name, date, and reference number) must be included in the methods section of the article. In case reports, it is mandatory to include information in the article confirming that the informed consent form has been signed.
  • Authors must clearly declare any potential financial, institutional or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the results of the study.
  • When using copyrighted material (tables, figures, images) belonging to third parties, the author(s) must provide evidence that they have obtained the necessary legal permissions to use such material. The author(s) undertake that the Journal of Nationalism Studies and the journal editors shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for any claims or lawsuits brought by third parties for copyright infringement, and that all responsibility lies with the author(s) themselves.
  • The views expressed in articles published in the journal do not in any way bind the Journal of Nationalism Studies. Responsibility for published articles and writings lies with the author(s).
